India first ATM Train: The Panchavati Express ATM was introduced by the Central Railway, conducts trial run between Nashik and Mumbai. The public sector bank, Bank of Maharashtra, has become the first bank to install an automated teller machine (ATM) on a train in india. If it proves to be effective, it will be expanded to other trains.

This is the first such attempt in the country. Indian Railways has installed Automated Teller Machines (ATM) in trains. Its aim is to increase the convenience of passengers by providing banking services while traveling.

This scheme is a collaborative project between the Bhusaval Division of Railways and Bank of Maharashtra through the Innovative and Non-Fair Revenue Ideas Scheme (INFRIS).

ATM on Wheel: India first ATM Train

This scheme called “ATM on Wheels” is in line with the directive of the Railway Board. Rubber pads and bolts were used to prevent vibrations to ensure that the ATM is securely tied for its first journey.

Additionally, there are also two fire extinguishers in the designated area. Since the area has been secured with a shutter and monitored by CCTV around-the-clock to ensure safety.

The railway’s mechanical team converted the mini pantry section of the train into a secure compartment for the ATM.
